A shape mapped to your face
Before anything comes off, I measure where your brows should start, arch and end against your own bone structure. You see the mapping in the mirror and we agree on the line first. Then I work to it.
Shaped by threading, hair by hair
I shape with a twisted cotton thread that lifts each hair out at the root. It picks up hairs a few at a time, so the edge of your brow follows the line we mapped, down to the fine hairs above and below it. The thread is new for every client, so nothing is ever used twice.
Honest advice about what suits you
I'll tell you what your own growth will hold and what suits your face. If a tint on its own gets you the fullness you want, I'll say that and we skip the lamination. If a section needs a few weeks of growing back before it can be shaped properly, that's what you'll hear.

Your shape, plus a brow tint. The tint takes to the fine hairs as well as the strong ones, so sparse spots read fuller and you can leave the pencil alone most days.

How booking works
You pick your treatment and your time yourself on the booking page, so you can sort it whenever suits you, day or night.

Check your email
Your confirmation comes by email, with the treatment and the time on it. Once that lands, your appointment is held for you.
Come to the studio
Every appointment is at the studio in Kerobokan Kelod, Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00. I don't do home visits, so this is where we do it all.

Choosing where to get your brows done
What to look for when you pick a brow artist
Your brows sit in the middle of your face and they grow back at their own slow pace, so who you sit down with matters. Here is what I would tell a friend to ask about before she books anywhere, and how I work on each one, so you can judge for yourself if I am the right person to do yours.
What to ask about
I am worried about too much being taken off, and brow hair comes back slowly.
How I work
I take a little at a time and stop to look with you in the mirror while there is still room to keep more. If you want it finer, we carry on from there. Anything that stays on your face is your decision as much as mine.
What to ask about
I do not want a trend shape that looks wrong on my face.
How I work
I map the shape to your own face first: where your brow starts, where it peaks, where it ends, and how that sits with your eyes and your bone structure. The threading follows that map. If you show me a shape you have seen somewhere and it will not sit well on you, I will say so and show you what will.
What to ask about
Threading touches my skin. How do I know the thread and the tools are clean?
How I work
A fresh thread is opened for your appointment and goes in the bin afterwards, so it is used on your skin only. Tools are cleaned between clients and the station is set up fresh before you sit down. Studios who come to train with me learn the same setup.

My skin reacts to things easily. Can I still have a tint?
How I work
Tell me before you book and we will do a patch test first, a small amount on your skin so you know how it settles before anything goes near your brows. If your skin feels irritated on the day, we can shape now and tint at another visit. Nothing has to happen in one appointment.

I have heard lamination can leave the hairs frizzy or brittle if it is left on too long.
How I work
Lamination is a timed step, and the right time depends on your hair: how coarse it is, how it has been treated, how it behaved last time. I stay with it while it processes and take it off when the lift is where we want it. If your brows are fragile at the moment, I will tell you straight and we can keep it to shaping and tint this visit.

How often will I need to come back once it starts growing out?
How I work
Brow hair comes in at its own speed, and yours will not match the next person's. At the end of your appointment I will tell you roughly when your brows will be ready for me again, and it is often later than people expect. In between, the more regrowth you let me see, the more I have to work with, so you can leave it alone until then.

Questions I get asked first
How do I book?
On my booking page, browsbyshania.setmore.com. You pick the treatment, pick a time, and it's yours. Times there are Bali time (WITA), and your confirmation comes by email. It's the only way I take appointments, so a WhatsApp message won't hold a time for you.
Do you come to my house?
No, every appointment is at the studio in Kerobokan Kelod. It's open Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00, and closed Saturday and Sunday. The address and directions are at the bottom of this page.
How long does an appointment take?
Between 15 and 75 minutes, depending on what you book. Shaping is the quick one, and lamination takes the longest. You'll see the length next to each treatment on the booking page, so you can plan your day around it.
What is threading, and does it hurt?
Threading shapes your brows with a twisted cotton thread that lifts the hairs out a row at a time, which is how I hold a precise line. It stings for the few seconds the thread is on each spot, then it's done, and your skin can look a little pink straight after. Waxing and microblading aren't treatments I offer.
How often should I come back?
It depends on how fast your hair grows back, and that's genuinely different for everyone. At your appointment I'll tell you what I'd suggest for your brows, and you book the next one yourself whenever you're ready.
Can I have a tint or lamination if my skin is sensitive?
Message me on WhatsApp before you book. Tint and lamination both leave product sitting on your skin, so if your skin reacts easily, or hair dye or brow tint has bothered you before, we'll arrange a patch test first. It costs you an extra day and you'll know where you stand.
What does it cost?
Treatments run from Rp 150,000 to Rp 700,000, depending on which one you book. The price for each is listed on the booking page next to the treatment, so you see it before you confirm anything.
One honest note: I'm closed Saturday and Sunday, so weekends aren't something I can fit you in for. Monday to Friday, the booking page shows every time I have free.
